Farm Friday feat. Island Beguilin’ (Richard Choquette & Forrest Anderson)
With their tightly woven guitar work and harmony vocals, Richard Choquette and Forrest Anderson create a tapestry of folk music with some eccentric threads of country and bluegrass, as well as an occasional old standard tossed in. Island Beguilin’ appears regularly at the WICA summer weekend concerts under the tent, the Bayview Farmers Market, and the Tilth Farmer’s Market.
Forrest has sung and played music as long as he can remember, beginning with singing in the car with his family. He made his living singing and playing in bars, such as the Earl of Old Town and Somebody Else’s Troubles in Chicago, and in other venues in the Midwest during the 1970s. He has returned to music as his primary occupation and began performing with Richard in 2023.
Richard is an eclectic musician, having played in nearly every kind of band imaginable at one time or another. On Whidbey, he has settled into an acoustic presence, adding in lead guitar and harmony vocals in his collaborations.
Each week, we'll have either an open mic, a solo musician, or a duo providing music. Bring a potluck dish, your own serving pieces (plates, utensils), and your favorite beverage. We'll contribute to the table via something from the field and our wood-fired oven. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors.
