Michael Laslett and Kevin Fristad give voice to the struggles of working people,carry the spirit of rallies and union halls, and remind us that song can both inspire action and offer strength for the road ahead.

Drawing from the deep well of folk, country, and Americana traditions, they honor the writers and singers who came before — Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, and all those who understood that music is not just entertainment, but a force for change.

Whether performing for a crowd of hundreds or a circle of a dozen, Fret & Fire brings the same conviction: that every audience deserves a song worth singing, and every listener deserves to feel less alone in the fight.

Each week, we'll have either an open mic, a solo musician, or a duo providing music. Bring a potluck dish, your own serving pieces (plates, utensils), and your favorite beverage. We'll contribute to the table via something from the field and our wood-fired oven. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors.
